Hi, I am new to this group. I have trigeminal neuralgia, triggered by the usual triggers plus sinus problems. Anyone have a sinus problem trigger?

I’m dealing with a new issue recently. I have sjogrens winding if anyone else is experiencing this. By evening and all though the night have very high pain in left back of thigh area all the way down by calf and burning and numbness in feet. Mostly on left side. Except burning in both feet. It’s getting worse each night waking me up and unable to fall back to sleep. Using heat socks on areas but have no idea what this is?
Are you having a problem with mucus buildup, runny nose no cold, cough shortness of breath? I have this problem. Dairy is the number one culprit but processed meats are not good. If this fits, you will find info on internet by googling mucus problem or something like that.
Hello, I am now just on here searching for answers similar to your if not identical? I have swelling on uppet inside of right side nostril, The pain I can actually touch if I used a saline salution bottle. It also has caused swelling on the outside of my upper nose under my eye as well. I was checked for tear duct blockage and that is not the case. I also have pain sometimes on right back side of head. My Dr. Is ending me to ENT again. I have had CT scans for this pain and inflammation before and it always comes back normal. So I am wondering myself is this trigeminal neuralgia? Can that cause sinus congestion post nasal drip, pain and swelling in just this area? Hopefully we both can find some answers here. I will say prayers for us.
hello all
i have tn and it is def worse when my sinuses get bad or any inflammation/cold in that region
my family doctor has been giving me antibiotics which usually clears the sinuses and hence calms the tn pain however it isnt a quick fix and can take a few days for meds to kick in
For the last month, I have experienced visual disturbances in my right eye following what I thought was a migraine with aura. Interestingly, my “migraine” pain immediately dissipated away when I removed my glasses (a heavier pair that seemed to be irritating a nerve in my nasal bridge). I have had constant nasal pressure and fluid in my ears since that incident (despite using Flonase, mucinex and sudafed) … until last night, when I gently massaged a sore spot in my inner eyebrow (same side as the nerve pain from my glasses). I now have resolution of the sinus pressure and I am hopeful that my vision disturbances will disappear as well. I realized the spot I was massaging was probably a trigger point impinging on my supratochlear nerve. Anyway, posting this just in case someone else could find the same relief without going to multiple doctors!

2 ReactionsThanks for sharing! I also notice more zaps and zings when my head is full with sinus pressure.
I feel sorry for all you guys. I’ve had trigeminal neurology for 11 years and two microvascular decompression surgeries because of the first one they screwed up. I’m in Canada so marijuana is legal. I do use it, take it into my mouth and just blow it out of my nose and do not take it into my lungs to get higher or anything. In particular I use the Indica brand because it doesn’t get you high after you blow out the nose there is tremendous pain that lasts about 10/15 Seconds, but it grabs a hold of the nerds, and then you have Relief for 6/8 Hours hours that’s what works for me. Not sure it’ll work for anyone else. In addition, I do use some numbing agents such as Orajel or Anbesol on my gums once in a while to kill the pain, there is also a pill in Germany, called Ambroxol Which is very strong but very good. It will knock you on your way around for an hour or so but after that life is pretty good. This particular pill WAS in a clinical trial in 1920 for trigeminal N mixed with DMSO AND a facial cream. I found it looking online under artificial intelligence. Ordered it on Amazon out of Germany and it came over here by ordinary mail 200 pills for 40 bucks now the problem is to mix them in the proportion to make what is called the Ambroxol 20% Cream over here because they will not ship it out of Germany. Apparently I need a prescription for it from reading the article the cream tremendously stopped the TN but no, I never took the research further. I have got the chemicals here because they’re available and I got the stuff shipped from Germany. I’m gonna try and make some stuff and see what happens. Doctors probably will say I’m insane but who cares. I have made some other compounds using the cream and DMSO, and one other compound, which will remain anonymous for the time being, rub it on my face, and on the back of my neck, and. miraculous The TN will disappear in about 15 Minutes and last for a number of hours. I should mention with the marijuana above that it will go right to the back of your sinuses and clear everything out and you’ll be dripping and have no pressure on your trigeminal nerve as all the mucus comes out this is a homemade remedy no magic just using my brain of a chemical engineer. I can tell you that it’s very nice to get up in the morning and not have any pain and be able to read the newspaper. Look it up under artificial intelligence and good luck if anybody wants to try it.

2 Reactions@mjcmjc Hi....I've had severe trigeminal nerve pain for years caused by a dentist. The only thing that has ever worked was to take steroids when necessary....taking pills daily wasn't the answer for me....side effects were horrible....then because of my constant research I discovered a non-invasive procedure thru the Mayo Clinic called Scrambler Nerve Therapy....again, non-invasive and no pain. Further research lead me to a clinic in Clifton, New Jersey called Calmare Therapy NJ....I live in New York City...Long story short, I did the therapy which consists of 10 days of treatments....It is not covered by insurance but I didn't care....All I can say is I'm almost two weeks pain free....My cost was to hire a care service to take me there and then back home ....The procedure is approved by the FDA....The clinic is only run by a father and son...and it's all that they do. Unfortunately, more doctors do not know about this program....Please check out either Scrambler Therapy at Mayo Clinic or Calmer Therapy NJ. Each session was about 30-40 minutes long and rather pleasant...Patches are attached to your specific pain area which are then attached to a special device. It's a pleasant "current" feeling and generally I would fall asleep during the sessions.....Let me know your thoughts....
And you please let me know what the cost of your treatment was and where and how close visit to the airport in New Jersey or some nearby in airport. I remember being Thoms River smart house for a trial once has a lawyer 25 years ago but that's about the greatest knowledge I have of the area. If it works had be prepared to go there but I have to find a little bit more about it. Do you have any website that I could go into and look at find out whether it would be worth my while to go there. Tough call to stay there for about eight or nine weeks if that's the number of treatments you need

The Clinic is located in a Clifton, N.J. and the website is
http://www.calmaretherapynj.com. I worked with Dr. Jason Cooney.
He is a lovely and understanding doctor...if you fill out the form,
he will call you and talk with you....
1. The therapy consists of 10 days of treatment ...assuming you start on a Monday, the week-end off, and then a second week.
2. Each treatment is about 30-40 minutes long...Totally non-invasive and
does not hurt.
3. It is FDA approved.
4. Bad news...not covered by Medicare or any kind of insurance.
5. Two weeks of treatment costs approximately $3,800....
6. I live in New York City and I added the cost of a car service to take me
there and then take me back home.
7. Their patients have come from all over the world!
8. Another cost to consider is staying at a local hotel or AirBnB for two weeks.
9. It's a very small clinic, not fancy as they don't need a big space...
10. I also suffer from a secondary pain, a rare headache called Hypnic
Headaches.. And today I received 31 injections of Botox for pain into my head, forehead, neck and back of head....I've got pain going on all over the place.
After my two weeks of treatment, I went off to Paris for a week with no problem. When I came back, I had some headaches that triggered a trigeminal
attack. Went back to Dr. Cooney for 3 days of booster treatment and since then, have not had any nerve pain.
There are videos of patients on the website to see....
I'm happy with my results
Everyone is different in terms of nerve pain and results. They have a high
rate of success. I'm hoping to go at least 6 months of no pain and NO PILLS.
I would suggest getting in touch with Dr. Cooney and talking with him.
You can tell him you "spoke with me" (Suzanne Golden)
It is a financial investment but I didn't have much of a choice...I was worn
out from all the drugs and pain and did consider ending things....so right now
I'm holding steady and now waiting on the injections for my head pains to
kick in.
If I haven't mentioned before, my problems were caused by a dentist
who apparently was on drugs....I was having teeth implants...When the
process was over, I had permanently damaged nerve pain and he (the
dentist) committed suicide!!!!
