Savannah is not too far from Mayo Jacksonville. I have been a patient there since 2006.
They have a world renown EP who is the director on EP and Pace Clinic. The entire division is outstanding and if you can get there I would highly recommend them as a second opinion.
Before I moved to Jacksonville area in 2015 I was driving 3 hours each way from Vero Beach. But once I had my first appointments there I knew it was the place of excellent care and thus the drive was worth it.
What my EP and HF did was work with my local cardiologist sharing information and contacting each other. This worked very well. But my wife and I decided to move to Jacksonviile because we fell in love with a community there (Del Webb) that had a heated indoor lap pool.
I see you are well aware of the toxcity of amidarnone. It is a great medication and does what it suppose to do. I took it for about 1 year and then my EP worked me off of it. I do take a different medication now that works very well that helps reduce tacacardia and PVCs.
Maybe contact Mayo Jacksonville and see if you can do a second opinion by sharing medical information with them.
Good luck!
