Even though you may require more than mild hearing loss correction, one option is to buy a quality, yet inexpensive Over The Counter (OTC) pair of in the canal type hearing aids and try them over time under all your different environment scenarios. Some OTC hearing aid companies are even offering Artificial Intelligence (AI) assisted hearing aids now for less than $500 a pair. Of course there are hearing aid eye glasses and smart eye glasses for limited other applications as your activities change during the day.

If you have mild to moderate hearing loss you might be able to get away with in the ear hearing aids.
If your hearing loss is severe or profound you are probably going to have to go with BTE.
Someone mentioned $500 hearing aids which are probably over the counter. Unless your hearing loss is really minor don’t waste your money. Call TruHearing and have them find you an audiologist in your area. You will save quite a bit of money on the hearing aids and you will have someone who can fit you after you have a hearing test.
Good luck.
