@patden, I'm not sure if @wputney was referring to a specific program to travel help. I know that the American Cancer Society has a program called Road to Recovery https://www.cancer.org/support-programs-and-services/road-to-recovery.html
Trained volunteer drivers offer free rides. They pick you up, take you to your appointment, and drop you off at home. I'm not sure if there is a mile limit, but it can't hurt to ask. Give them a call 1-800-227-2345.
