What helps with hair loss?

I went to see this dermatologist who told me she was the "hair expert." She gave me a prescription for a medication that you rubbed into your scalp. By the way I guess I should mention that first she took a biopsy. She didn't even numb me, just cut out this piece from my scalp. It said I had scarring, alopecia and one other thing that I have forgotten. What they did not tell me was that this medication raises your blood sugar. I live alone so I have no one to check on me to see how I am doing. I was close to being in a coma after several days before I figured out what was doing this. So I stopped and almost immediately started to feel better. Then I saw a different dermatologist. He prescribed a different medication; this time in a pill form. But I refused to take it. I am 90 years old. I take two medications for blood pressure and that's it. If I made it to now without all those meds, then not taking them will not make me sick. I am a healthy 90 year old.

Good for you, you’re a wise person, nothing is more important in life than your health, everything else comes under vanity.

What was the medicine she recommended that you rub into scalp? Is it for alopecia? What did she prescribe for alopecia?
