Plant based “meat”

Posted by suzeg @suzeg, Mar 3 11:31am

I’m ckd stage 3a - I’ve been on a plant based diet and it’s helped the protein in my urine numbers and it’s been suggested that I could eat plant based “meat” substitute. They suggested morningside brand. I don’t see my dietician for awhile and wonder if this is really a good idea. I’ve had the motto “ fresh is best” so not so sure.

Thank you. I heard that pertaining to drs but didn’t think about dietitian. I really appreciate your comment!

Double check but I believe that Medicare is ending the extended (because of Covid) telehealth consultations with RD dieticians at the end on March 2025… unless a dialysis patient along with other non medical professionals…mental health etc. Dreadful in this electronic age! Try and find a local RD.

Medicare telehealth coverage was due to expire 3/31/2025 but it has just been extended through 9/30/2025. See AARP link below.
