So I am starting my first round of chemo in two weeks or so Any one else have a similar diagnosis My type of cancer is endometroid adencarcinoma carcinoma Figo Grade I

I should also add no lymph node involvement and the rest of my markers look good
Sorry to hear that you're in this situation. That's upsetting that they couldn't get all of it.
Did they see that spot during surgery, or was it on a CT scan?Do they think that the cancer grew through the uterus and into neighboring structures, or were there cancer cells floating around?
Is there a possibility of doing radiation too? I had a Grade 3 cancer where no spread was detected at my hysterectomy. I had chemo and vaginal brachytherapy, but I wish I had had external beam radiation too. My cancer came back, spread throughout my abdomen 9 months later.
They found it during surgery. I am having a test to determine if there are floating cells but that is a great question to ask my oncologist. For now to radiation is not planned but I imagine that more will be known as we go along Only found out yesterday.
@mablejoy Welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect.
I also was diagnosed with endometroid adenocarcinoma, FIGO Grade 1 and had a radical hysterectomy with resection of ovaries and fallopian tubes. I had a recurrence two years later and often wondered what might have been missed, if anything, when pathology evaluated the tissue after surgery. By the way, it's been 3 years since the recurrence with no other evidence of disease.
I'd like to encourage you to begin writing your questions down if you have not already started doing that. With this spot that was found in the pelvic paranetrium lining I'd have some of the same questions that @val64 indicated. Your cancer care team is moving quickly with your results and treatment and that is reassuring.
How are you feeling since you just learned this information yesterday? Will you see your oncologist before starting chemotherapy?
I saw my oncologist on Wednesday and I have a call with her next Wednesday. I am waiting to talk to the oncologist @ the hospital to get the details about the when and how of the treatment
I am anxious but oddly calmer than before the surgeon because I had a feeling something wasn't right and now I know what . I got my initial diagnosis on Valentines Day and had my surgery a week ago last Tuesday. It sometimes feels like I haven't had time to breath or totally go thru grieving. I am going to start seeing a counselor this am
Best wishes for your treatment, you’re probably still in shock so all the very best ❤️
@mablejoy I very much understand the feelings of anxiety. My time between diagnosis and the initial consult with the GYN-Ocologist at Mayo Clinic was very short. Also, Mayo Clinic in Rochster, MN is 400 miles from where I live so I had to quickly pack and find care for our animals before leaving home. Fortunately, our neighbors jumped in and quickly volunteered to care for our animals which was a huge relief for me. Like you, I felt like I barely had time to breathe. So yes, it's a whirlwind of appointments however from what other members have shared here I'm glad that you do not have to wait before you move forward with your appointments and treatment.
Support is so important for us. When you mention counselor, does this mean that you will see a mental health therapist?
Yes it's a mental health counselor. Felt I need another ear
Hi just wondering is that the same as cancer of the omentum please?
