Learning to use things like bannisters and just caution is what I’m still working on after a ruptured brain aneurysm…
I did some PT but kept forgetting my appointment times and other post-SAH confusions.
In July I bounded down the stairs as I used to and crushed my wrist …

So I’m looking into going back to PT and being as careful as I can -
It’s hard but becomes a habit a little at a time.

I sure sympathize and understand. I had a brain bleed stroke three years ago. it was tough when I realized that I would never be " me", physically or mentally" again. Often the simplest task would take extreme concentration and leave me short of breath. I make lists, leave notes for myself and set timers to help me function. I do repetative things the hard way; tieing shoes with laces instead of velcro, pants with belts, shirts with buttons, and so on. I have a wonderful lifetime companion who helps when asked but ignores when I stuggle.
Everything you physically and mentaly do, is therapy. Yes, by all means be careful but challenge yourself to do more. I will never forget when I was in intensive ocupational therapy poking myself in the eye with a banana.
