My PMR was diagnosed a week after a sore throat (the worst I have ever had) and cold. My nephew was diagnosed with PMR after they drained fluid from his knee. A golfing friend had surgery, then Sepsis, then diagnosed with PMR. Several different things have triggered PMR.
I am currently struggling with getting strength back in thighs/calves - legs. I've taken two severe falls in the last two months because of weakness. The Rheumatologist suggested and got me on an infusion of Actemra once a month to get off Prednisone. Off Prednisone now... It is working. Actemra is not a steriod like Prednisone is. I now have an Actemra infusion (doesn't hurt or have many side effects for me), once a month for 12 months (could be longer - we will monitor) until it goes into remission. I just hope it does go into remission. Anyone else have weakness?
