what is your experience with fosamax?

I'm new to this post, but wanted to give my experience with Fosamax. I am 61 years old, I am a runner, and I have been weight training for 25 years. I was shocked when I heard I has osteoporosis. I was on Fosamax for 4 months, and started experiencing inconsistent heavy chest, some pains in legs, and an achy pain in my gums and jaw. My doctor said it was probably a coincidence with my mouth and never addressed the other issues I was having. I was told to make an appointment with her. The appointment schedule was 3 months out. I decided to take myself off of the fosamax until I could talk to someone regarding my side effects. In the mean time I bought a vibration plate, and continued with my vitamins, including algaecal which I have been taking since 1/1/25. Yesterday I went to a Naturopathic doctor to get a second opinion. There is a lot more to what I learned, but she changed my vitamins, and explained the calcium game (too much/too little) She also prescribed 2 other supplements, in which I am going to try. I am considering HRT; however, I have high blood pressure and it needs to be properly regulated before we would go that route. I have been on 3 types of BP med since being diagnosed 15 years ago, and it still fluctuates high and low. The jury is out on what my next move is. I have not changed my primary care doctor to this woman yet. I'll take any advice from anyone who has experience with osteoporosis, as I am new to this, and there is so much conflicting information out there. I want to do the best job I can to preserve what I have without compromising the rest of my health.

Hi, are you still taking algaecal? I wondered how that has been for you? Did they suggest vit K2? I'm a,few years older and considered HRT, I also have BP up and down. Not on meds
