Coordinating MyChart access NJH - NYU LANGONE
I am preparing for my first National Jewish Health visit at the end of April. I have behind me 2+ Years of excellent Investigative care for my BX/MAC from NYU Langone. Both institutions use MyChart. Can anyone in this group report streamlining success in getting future doctors to access and consider all of the tests that have gone before? I have behind me several procedures and tests that I feel aught to be considered to avoid unnecessary redundancy. I am having difficulty with my “ambassador” hearing my concerns. Thanks in advance!

Glad you are getting in at National Jewish. MyChart does have a feature which allows you to share your records and link different facilities so they are all accessible so this should be able to be done. If you go into the main menu and scroll down you can see that option.
Well, yes, and thank you. Not exactly what I was asking though. You get it and I get it, but the NJH doctors and their staff are not confirming that they are connected and reviewing for consideration all the history contained there pertaining to my NJH scheduling.
Sorry, I'm not answering your question but I do have one for you or anyone else. I too am going to NJH later in May and I just received my appointments, and they only have me scheduled for 5/20 and 5/30? The 2 initial appointments on 5/20 is with Lab (blood test?) and Financial Services. I have a Medicare supplemental insurance-and I was under the assumption it was covered by my insurance. Can you or someone give me an idea of the costs and if they will add more appointments later? I'm coming from AZ and thought I needed to be in Denver from 5/20-5/30? Just confused about the process.
Ah. I see. While we shouldn’t assume, it does sound odd and very frustrating if all your past history, visits, labs and results aren’t taken into consideration for the final picture. Additionally doesn’t make sense to repeat those. Hopefully someone who has been there can provide more insight.

I was able to add my NJ Drs to my chart at NYU Langone myself. As long as they use my chart there is a place your NYU site that has a drop down menus of nations that you can add to give access to your info.
When I went to NJH a few years ago, my insurance did cover my visit but I still had to meet with the financial office first thing. They verified my insurance (Medicare + advantage plan) would cover but they do cover themselves saying you are responsible for anything not covered. I think all I had to pay was a one-time co-pay like you would pay for a doctor’s visit.
Thank you, that's reassuring. My insurance did say that NJH was in network.
I noticed you received treatment at NYU Langone. My husband's Pulmonologist has been on medical leave. His December appointment was rescheduled to later this month. We are thinking of going to NYU group in the city. That would be a hour train ride compared to a 10-minute walk to office of his current doctor.
Would you share the doctor(s) who treated you at NYU and your experience there? His last sputum test results showed 2 positives for Mycobacterium Avian Complex and 2 negatives. He nebulizes daily with saline to thin mucus and when he hears wheezing, he also uses budesonide nebulized.
Thanks for sharing. This group has been most helpful addition to our own research.
My Dr is Doreen Addrizzo-Harris. I too travel a distance, but because NYU is a center for research on our illness they are more up to date with treatments and new research. I find it well worth the trip.
