I have had a uti for 3 weeks and 3 different antibiotics.
I recently learned that your initial urine test they do can show no signs of a uti but the culture can, mine showed E. coli. From now on I will be insisting on a culture.
I just had five urine tests and 5 cultures since the first two antibiotics didn’t work. Because i want to make sure my my uti has gone I went to urgent care today and they did the urine test and submitted the culture. I also learned it doesn’t necessarily take 48-72 hours, it was explained to me that they check it after 12, 24 and 36 hours and if there is no bacteria at that time they do not check it further. Because I had it for 3 weeks I wanted to make sure I was clear, they also did a blood test. I am so paranoid about getting sepsis that that is the reason I am so persistent.

See my comment below 100,000 cfu is not good and you need to make sure you get the right antibiotics. I would get a test after you have completed the antibiotics to make sure it is gone.
