Newly diagnosed with liver cancer, having trouble coping
Just diagnosed with liver cancer 4 days ago. Looks to be an early diagnosis. Still my anxiety and thoughts are all over the place. Any help or advice will be appreciated. Are there zoom or online cancer support groups. Joe

Wow! Thats encouraging. Last year they discovered a 12.5cm tumor on my liver. They did a resection and removed it. Now a have a new 2cm tumor. I have completed the mapping and will be getting the radiation this monday. Hoping to get an exception to get listed . I was told their is very little side effects but your telling me about extreme fatigue. How long did it last??

How are you doing on chemo?
Hi, Colleen I am doing find with the chemo. Had to get a unit of red blood cells because mine were down. I have a CT scan scheduled for March 12th and we will see if this chemo regiment is working. I have all ready did the 5fu regiment and also had 28 treatments of proton radiation while taking a chemo pill. Had the Whipple surgery in October of 2024 which I was stage 1 at that point and time. The surgeon said he got it all out he also took out 21 lymph nodes and 4 were cancerous. He wasn't to worried about that because when I was open the gave me radiation. But when I went for my 3 month check up the CT scan showed it went to my liver. I have 5 tumors biggest one is 2.6 cm one is 2cm and the other 3 are 1cm. So hoping that this chemo is keeping them at bay or even shrinking them. They have put me on the list for clinical trial but I am really interested in the Histotripsy .But I understand that there are only 2 treatment machines in the United States. I know I go to Boston and they are talking about get one but don't know how far out or how long it will take to get one. Thank you for asking won't know anything until that CT scan but I do feel great. Best that I have felt since this all started in December of 2023. If you find any more new treatments out there please let us all know. Would like to know if anyone has had the Histotripsy treatment and how they are doing and has it worked. Thanks again! Everyone one stay positive and keep on fighting. Hopefully sooner than later they will find something to fight pancreas cancer and it seems to be that in likes to spread to the liver.
Histotripsy has a site on FB you see actual patients comments. There are many more than 2 machines in the US.
Thank you for that information. Because what I have read it was just approved in December of 2023 and at this point in time there were only 2 machines in the US. I will have to look more into to it Thanks
Plus I don't do Facebook. But Thanks again
@trishac, welcome. Have you been diagnosed with living cancer?
Had MRI yesterday and results came back today: Radiologist commented on the report that it doesn’t look like the lesion is cancerous after all. But recommendation is to follow up in 6-12 months to make sure it doesn’t grow.
