Hi! I’m wondering how many of you were diagnosed under age 55? I was 51. Thanks!

New to this and finding the forum incredibly helpful to understand PMR at a young(er) age.
I was diagnosed in Nov24 by rheum and now on 6 month pred taper...felt better day 2 taking 20mg of pred; Alendronate (sp?) for bone loss control. Vit D supplement...and very focused on keeping my diet rich in calcium while avoiding inflammatory prone foods: fried stuff, alcohol and heavily processed all OUT or to minimum.
Similar to others and seems more consistent for those of us in 50's, inflam markers normal. 10-20% of people.
I find when I exercise, I must REALLY be careful to not act like a 35 year old. Takes days to recover from overdoing it and long car rides are a complete no-no.
I play soccer and ski frequently and am able to do these activities as long as I keep the pace down.
I have hit 7.5mg pred daily and sure enough, aches creeping back in. BUT I am very optimistic and thankful because I can get out of bed and put on my shoes, tie them pain free. Not the case half a year ago...and 55 years old? that can get depressing so I feel fortunate the routine is working for me.
Good luck all.
