If this is cancer and they are considering surgery, that would indicate that it is an earlier stage lung cancer. But it might not be cancerous. There are other conditions that can cause spiculated nodules:

Inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis and sarcoidosis

Infections like tuberculosis,
Lung cysts and abscesses
Rheumatoid nodules

In the US there are fungi that can cause them- histoplasmosis and aspergillosis. Might there be similar pathogens in Argentina?

Denzie, thank you very much for answering me, from the bottom of my heart. I had been looking for an update for days and finding this forum somehow helps me handle the situation. I am very alone. Thank you for taking your time to help me. In Argentina, for example, tuberculosis is endemic. Although the BCG vaccine is mandatory in the calendar, the disease occurs frequently. There are also some mushrooms, although I am not sure which ones or how they are presented. It is usually present in the feces of some birds or in more leafy areas. Both possibilities exist and I considered them, but both the pulmonologists and the chest surgeon talk to us about the potential for malignancy, which is why I am so discouraged. I'm afraid it's too late. I fear the result of the PET CT and I fear that I will suffer. They are invasive procedures. I wish I were living it myself and took away all his pain. Thank you for opening up my perspective on other possibilities. I haven't found cases that present themselves that way, but at least it gives me a little hope, as does the fact that you helped me. Thank you immensely. If you have any other additional information, whether from these forums, web content or literature, would you be so kind as to share it with me? I'm still getting familiar Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hug you from the other side of the world
