New onset ‘hot flashes’ years after menopause

I have the exact situation. Hysterectomy at 40, now age 62. Sudden night sweats. Try NO Gluten Nd no sweets after dinner. I am not gluten intolerant but these items cause horrible night sweats!

@toomanyquestions I have the same thing happen when I have sweets after 4pm. I think it is high blood sugar that causes what seems to be hot flashes; I'm 70 have been without uterus and ovaries since I was 42 and have used estrogen patch since I was 42.

But if I eat too much sweets before bedtime: wake with sweating, increased BP and slight heart palps. I think is is due to blood sugar and not anything hormonal. Well...insulin is hormonal so it makes sense....
