Severe stomach pain
I have had several years of pain in my stomach and not sure what to do. i have had ibs, acid reflux, gastritis, internal hemorrhoids. A few months ago I had a slighly irregular Z line, mildly erythematous found in the antrum and nodules were found in the ascendingn colon.
I have taken xypaxin for pain but it no longer helps. I throw up daily and have diarrhea, I have headaches. My stomach cramps so badly that I can go anywhere because of the pain. What should I do?

Hi everyone,I went to the ER twice in the last few months. The pain started down there in sharp pains. Then progressed to the right side of my abdomen, I was worried it was appendicitis so I went to the ER. They ran every test in the hospital and everything came back fine. my abdomen has been hurting for months now whether it's the left or right side sometimes even the center of my stomach. No idea what's wrong, and pain is bad. Anyone have any ideas? experience?
Hello, @hopeful33250
and thanks for asking. He just pressed on the hernia, which didnt hurt, and said it is small. The concern for now is the stomach. He dd not do any tests for it--no scan, ultrasound, etc--except for a blood test, of which I still await results. He basically went right to scheduling me n endoscopy. It was my first time with that doctor. I think it is a bit too soon for something like that before taking tests. My stomach is not cramping now, just some faint discomfort.
I will go ahead with the endoscopy, but will delay it for a week or two while monitoring my situation. I have to delay it because I cannot take off work so suddenly.
Just a thought! Have you had a laparoscopy procedure or started working out recently? You may have stretched some stomach muscles or have lesions from the laparoscopic surgery.
Bad pain in your abdomen needs to be investigated by the doctor! They will look at other symptoms too. Pain itself is a good indicator of something not right.
I would have your gallbladder checked for gallstones. Maybe you even have a kidney stone? My abdomen hurt so bad before I had to have it out! It started out like a stomach ache then after that like I had a truck parked on my abdomen. The ultrasound showed gallstones. Good luck.
The endoscopy would diagnose gastritis and other things in stomach. Ask about sucralfate to coat stomach and esophagus.
Iv'e never had a laparoscopy procedure. I'm a high school student who does swim team and practices often, but I've been doing it for years.

Given your symptoms an endoscopy is a great way to diagnose gastric symptoms. It is a procedure that is generally easy to tolerate and yet provides your doctor with great information. I have had many of these myself.
I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you continue to post with any questions or concerns?
Teresa brought up a good point regarding appendiccitis. I had a ruptured appendix and had none of the usual symptoms! It took the doctors 4 hours to figure out what was wrong with me and didn't know if was my appendix until they did a laporotomy!
