Hello @rjoestein and welcome to Mayo Connect. I am sorry to hear of your stomach pain and bulge. You might contact the doctor who examined you and ask if you were tested for appendicitis. If you find out that you were tested and if there was no evidence of appendicitis, that might put your mind at ease.

When will you be tested for the hernia matter? Have you been referred to a GI (gastroenterologist) specialist to check for stomach problems?

Hello, @hopeful33250
and thanks for asking. He just pressed on the hernia, which didnt hurt, and said it is small. The concern for now is the stomach. He dd not do any tests for it--no scan, ultrasound, etc--except for a blood test, of which I still await results. He basically went right to scheduling me n endoscopy. It was my first time with that doctor. I think it is a bit too soon for something like that before taking tests. My stomach is not cramping now, just some faint discomfort.
I will go ahead with the endoscopy, but will delay it for a week or two while monitoring my situation. I have to delay it because I cannot take off work so suddenly.

Teresa brought up a good point regarding appendiccitis. I had a ruptured appendix and had none of the usual symptoms! It took the doctors 4 hours to figure out what was wrong with me and didn't know if was my appendix until they did a laporotomy!
