I took 1 mg. 3 times per day. I switched over to Valium for tapering purposes. It took 5 years to taper off. The first two years were during the pandemic and I didn’t cut my dose very often. Thankfully, my doctor was very patient. Trust me it can be done. Almost overnight the Xanax stopped working and threw me into withdrawal. Being thrown into drug withdrawal with no warning was a nightmare i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.
