Anyone tried shock wave therapy for peripheral neuropathy nerve pain?
I’ve had peripheral neuropathy since 2020 after having a Covid vaccine. My pain worsens from supper time on. At bedtime, it is excruciating. I’ve tried all of the creams, even prescription creams. I’ve been on Gabapentin and Lyrica, with no change in my pain, so I am weaning off of these meds. I’ve heard horror stories about the med and withdrawal symptoms.
Has anyone here tired sh I wave therapy? My medical professional suggested it? Any advice? Thank you very much.

I'm getting shock wave therapy now at 2x per week for 10 treatments. I've finished my fourth treatment and can tell some bit of difference in my legs and feet. I'm also getting red light therapy at the same time. I don't know if this does anything or not. I did order a TENS unit from Oxiline.com. It was recommended by the clinic chiropractor that is treating me. It's cell phone size and seems to be well made. I'll use this for continuing maintenance. I used a TENS unit about 35 years ago after a back injury and it helped repair the sciatic nerve down my leg. I'm hopeful. I'm taking Gabapentin, which helps, and Ibuprofen from time to time, but haven't needed the Ibu this week. I think the electro-therapy is the best avenue for help.
I tried shock wave therapy for my back problems. It seemed to work at first but in the long run
it was a total waste of $800.
Tried. No help.
If you are taking in a lot of carbs/sugar at night, this could be aggravating the condition.
For that much money, I'd expect longer lasting results. Getting tattooed eliminates my nerve pain for up to 4 days afterwards.
i am 78 years old and have pn pain when trying to sleep.it started with cold or hot toes with pain of a sheet touching toes hurting.it progressed to numbness of toes till the entire bottom of both feet to heels were numb. i have tryed for years to find a fix since doctors only want to prescribe drugs for pain with no fix. i started dead hanging on feb14,16,18,20 and 22. after 5 times i am feeling a change in my pn pain. the change is my toes are hurting much worse but the numbness is about gone. is there anyone else that have tryed this?
dead hanging for peripheral neuropathy pain at night
have you tryed dead hanging for pn pain?
I haven't tried dead hangs but can see where it might be beneficial if the pain was related to a pinched or compressed nerve in the spine - https://www.healthline.com/health/fitness-exercise/dead-hang.
Not sure if I can post new q here- but- anyone try red light therapy? Did it work? So many practitioners, so many online devices- not sure how to proceed. I have a few massage elements w redlight but they are not as strong as medical products. TIA
