Thank you for the information. We will definitely be flying, but wasn’t sure if I had to do rehab following a septal myectomy.
Did you need to do rehab? If so, how long?

Mbi, I ditto Debra's words. My cardiologist suggested Mass Gen and Mayo, I picked Mayo hands down. I live in Upstate NY, we drove, 2 days, there happened to be many flight problems at that time, worried about missing the preop appointments. We left for home the morning after discharge (5 nights in hospital), home a week after surgery (we were amazed). As Debra wrote, the concierge services are great, used their list to find a hotel a short walk from St Mary's, the place you will be. I did not know at the time that they helped with flights. Rehab starts the day after surgery with walking and sitting in a chair. I had always been an active person, so I was walking outside the day after we got home. Cardio rehab started 6 weeks after - lack of available appointments, doctor wanted me there at the 2 week mark. Went to my gym, the owners had worked in cardio rehab. By the time I did go to the official place, I did not need to continue there. Everyone is different, you will be well cared for and guided every step of the way.
