Sleep without trazadone

I've been queuing up my medical issues and drugs to revisit with my primary care physician (trying to find better solutions while reducing polypharmacy), and took the opportunity last week to run the list of options I was considering by my migraine neurologist -- wanted to make sure that none of them would make the migraines worse. She instantly flagged the trazodone, saying that it can do double duty for both insomnia and migraine prevention and encouraging me to give it a try. Apparently it is being prescribed a lot more often these days for off-label uses than it is for depression, which is the application it is approved for by the FDA.

My psychiatrist recommends melatonin which is something you just buy over the counter
. Some people's bodies make more melatonin than others. I was in the hospital a few years back for several nights and I couldn't sleep there they would not give me Xanax which I would take occasionally if I had trouble sleeping I wouldn't give it to me in the hospital cuz it wasn't on my regular regimen of medications but the doctor did give me trazodone in the hospital and that worked but they didn't let's go in the hospital you can't sleep it's so noisy.. I know many people who take trazodone for arthritis it seems to help people.
