45 y/o male with sudden eye misalignment—anyone relate?

Posted by s0s @s0s, Sep 12, 2024

It started with double vision 5 months ago, but now the misalignment has gotten worse and is clearly noticeable to everyone I talk to. I can only drive with one eye open. Doctors suspect it may be acquired Brown syndrome, but I have no other symptoms. Has anyone else experienced something similar? Looking for advice or insight.

Did they ever call the condition binocular vision disorder? That is what they label my problem and I am dizzy with it(very debilitating) and I now have prism glasses which have helped but not entirely.

Have you not seen a neurologist?

s0s @s0s: I too, have double vision. I hav had two of the surgeries (on one eye), but they were not successful. My double vision is caused by a carotid ohpthalmic aneurysm. My vision also varies alot from one minute to the next, and that is from the aneurysm, too. I was referred to a specialist, but I have so many eye conditions that he said he could not do anything for me. My optometrist does add prisms to my lenses and it isn't a great help. It drives me crazy! One of my conditions was found by Mayo and they call it "tilted vision". Another thing to drive me crazy! I am just a crazy old broad! LOL! They used to say that aneurysms caused no symptoms, but they are changing their minds on that now. I have seen a couple of articles lately on aneurysms and started some specific reading on my aneurysm. I have a neurological body sway, which makes me feel like I am standing in a boat on water........and there are waves! From what I have read, there is a good possibility it may also play into my balance and walking problems. I will be presenting this to my neurologist to see what he says. I have joked with friends, saying that it is hard to watch tv when I see three screens and I am only looking at one tv......I can't decide which one to watch! LOL! I understand what you are going through.
