Lol ho ho ho no no no.
I've cut the alcohol right down, nearly all out.
Cut sugar down.
Going to try limited fruit and carbohydrate. Wow how hard will this be to try to have carbohydrate deficiency. When I was 18yo I was 68kg now I'm 114kg and lost 4 kg in the last 3 weeks.

Hi

I move along a lot more now.

Gleason score of 7

Decided to go with radiation and gel spacer. (Has anyone had the gel spacer?)

I know 2 people who have had radiation locally and they have been doing fine. 1 is 78 year old and completed radiation 12 years ago- looks in bread shape.

I know a few people that have used the gel spacer, it can prevent damage to the rectum. Some radiation oncologist refused to let their patient use them. In cases where the cancer is close to where the gel spacer would be, they sometimes don’t like it used.

Just some things to think about.

I’m 77, had 7 weeks of radiation 11 years ago and the only side effect is a little bit of incontinence starting about five years after it was done. I did have surgery 4 years before radiation. I hit the gym 3 days a week and walk a track every day, you have to stay active.

In May 2022, I had pencil beam proton therapy plus 24 months of lupron + abiraterone and prednisone for Gleason 9 T3a (EPE at the posterior base), and a PSMA showing no additional spread. The RO said that in my case, he would strongly advise against using the gel spacer, so it wasn't used. Twenty months post radiation, I have had no rectal issues. To date my PSA has remained < .03.

I am thankful for my incredible wife, my doctors, PAs, nurses, past therapies and those which may be needed in the future and for this message board and its many amazing contributors - you all are the best.

I apparently have a Gleason score of 7, PSA 38. T3b is what they told me- cancer localised to the prostate with high possibility in the ceminal vesicles.
Im 56 years old.

Have you decided what kind of treatment you’re going to have? Is your Gleason 7 a 4+3 or 3+4?

There are many treatments that are available to you with a Gleason 7.

Sure, you can have surgery or radiation or Focal Therapy, NanoKnife, cryotherapy, HIFU,, TULSA-PRO.

Have you made any decision about what you want to do?

Hi

The mental care nurse said I had 3-4 and 4-3 targets. I think more 3-4"s though she said.

I'm having radiation. The radiation specialist showed me some pictures of the machine. And I think over 5 weeks. He said 2% of people choose the gel spacer, so I said yes but a few people here said they were recommended not to have the gel. So I'm going to as the question again (do I need it)

I was diagnosed with Gleason 8 a year ago. No metastasized areas. Because Gleason 8 is considered aggressive I went through 45 radiation sessions. I had very few side effects. Occasional diarrhea.

I'm on ADT and will be for 2 years. I'll be 80 this year.

I also tested positive for the BRCA II mutation. Research says BRCA II in men can mean aggressive prostate cancer, which is true in my case.
