Lyrica causing pain & body aches
Has anyone experienced Lyrica causing more pain than the medication relieving it?
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Raynaud’s syndrome, Central Sensitization Syndrome, SI joint osteoarthritis in beginning of 2021 at Mayo Clinic. I was originally prescribed Lyrica; it really helped when I was first diagnosed. I started going into remission at the end of 2021… but quickly fell out of remission in early 2022. It’s been a struggle since. Now I also have suspected neuropathy and POTS but waiting on tests. I had another accident in the middle of 2022 that raised my pain levels, almost doubling them.
Recently I ran out of my prescription for lyrica for 4 days due to switching doctors. I felt extra ‘flu-like’ however I noticed my pain levels were lower… once I got my refill I started having more pain, especially back pain. I’m wondering now maybe if the Lyrica is causing me more muscle and tissue pain.
Please let me know if you’ve experienced anything similar or have heard of this. Thank you!!!

I've used Lyrica for a number of years an have had no problems
Yesssss!!! I feel so much validation right now. I feel like it hurts to lift my legs and get up from sitting. Way more than the inflammation relief I get. It’s awful.

1 ReactionI have EDS also and noticed this episodically the same way with gabapentin. Well years later my new pain doctor recommended trying lyrics.. At first it was a miracle drug but after a bout of an Accupuncture session gone wrong, the medication wasn’t working so the dosage was increased. I ironically got overwhelmed a misses a few doses of it but this morning decided to take it to get back on the wagon before my pain came back with a fury though I wasn’t in an particular pain.. within an 30 min to an hour the pain came back in my lower back and my quads.
I started taking Lyrica a few months ago and I was taking 75 in the morning and 75 at night and I can’t remember but the doctor I told him I was having some kind of a symptom and he said well maybe cut down to one a day and he said take it at night so I did Well I’ve been hurting. I ate from head to toe. I can’t hardly get up out of a chair off the toilet I’m in pain constantly unless I’m just sitting in the chair not moving then I’m OK. I’ve had real blurry brain fog. I can’t think of words that I normally used to say all the time I feel like I’m just kinda existing. I don’t care whether the house is clean or dirty if anything is picked up, I don’t wanna do anything anymore. I don’t know what to do. I didn’t know that Lyrica could cause this kind of problem now I’m believing that has a lot to do with everything. I’ve been experiencing constipation bloating Trouble, sleeping gas on my stomach lots and lots more side effects. I will be contacting my doctor.
