Hi, Barbara!
I am 80+4 mos & recently diagnosed with MAC by sputum culture, taking Azithromycin, Rifampin, Ethambutol 3xweek, so far with no side effects.
After childhood with bouts of pneumonia, bronchitis, pluerisy, was diagnosed with Bronchiectasis /pneumonia at age 28, started postural drainage; at 39 after yet another hospitalization with pneumonia, began albuterol & steroid inhalers along with mechanical chest vibration. Bouts of pneumonia have occurred every 10 years since. About 10 yrs ago, added albuterol & sodium chloride 3% by nebulizer 2xday & switched to RespirTech’s InCourage
Vest airway clearance therapy.
This regime along with avoidance of sick people & regular dr visits has served me well. Praying these antibiotics are effective against MAC!
Wishing you well!

That is one story of survival, perseverance, effort and strength of mind and body.
Thanks for your story....all stories help each of us no matter if the story is the same or different.
Hope your Valentines Day brought a smile to your face.

Forgot to say: I am 86. I don’t do well with most antibiotics so fear having to use the Big Three!
