I had the same thing happen to me and it was so painful on the first couple of days I could barely eat. I was visiting friends at their cottage so it was very embarrassing trying to explain why I couldn’t eat much of their food. I would say it took about 2 weeks to heal but even in the succeeding days I had to be careful for a couple of months. No effect on my ear, but I have had sore throats that did make my ear sore.

I am now at the 2 week mark and still dealing with this after being really strict on a soft diet. Curious to hear what kind of foods/drinks worked for you.

I was hoping to see an ENT asap to have them take a closer look but the soonest appointment isn’t for another 5 weeks. Ridiculous. I can’t wait that long.

I’m really worried something more serious is going on since I’m not really any better than day 1.
