I understand your concern, and it is legitimate insofar as nobody here should be offering medical advice. There's a fine line to walk between offering askers anecdotal and third party information and actually advising people to do A, and to not do B. Nobody does that here, or does without the mods carefully cautioning them behind the scenes, via PMs, which they do diligently.
This is a community provided for people to ask for commiseration, support, clarification, coaching, or just to ask if anyone else has the reported diagnosis and what there subsequent experience has been. On that basis, this set of sub-fora will remain available pretty much as it is, sanctioned by the Mayo Clinic and by its patrons, insurers, and those who come here asking for help.
These people are simply sharing their experiences. If you're not interested, don't read them!
Hi @dljackson57, thank you for your legitimate concern. Yes, Mayo Clinic Connect is owned and moderated by Mayo Clinic. You can read more about Mayo Clinic Connect here:

You're quite right. All information shared by members on the Mayo Clinic Connect, such as messages, images, advice, URLs, and any other material, is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding your health. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay in seeking it because of something you have read on the community.
Equally important is that patients and caregivers know stuff. They live with their condition(s) every day and learn a lot through that experience: from coping strategies to dealing with treatment side effects and more. By sharing we learn together, ask better questions of our medical professionals, and improve our health and health care.
