Shoulder Pain after Neulasta
Hi, has anyone else experienced shoulder pain (left side) after their Nulasta treatments have stopped. I was given Nulasta in January of this year while on doxorubicin to increase my white cells.
While on the Nulasta I had bone pain and was instructed by my physician to take Claritin to help alleviate the pain. I am still experiencing pain in my left shoulder, to the point of being unable to put a coat on without assistance and it has continued to get worse. My Oncologist has told me to see an Ortho, which I am this week. I'm just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

i had 3 Neulasta onpro injections while having treatment for Ovarian Cancer in 2019. I have severe pain in my left shoulder and upper arm still..5 years later...to the point i am going to see an ortho this friday(2/14). i have had to go to the ER because the pain has been horrible.
I' m getting infusions of Mvasi ( Avastin), both shoulders are frozen from this treatment, one worse than the other, and arm pain, I need help to put on a coat or jacket also, I have to sleep on the back, I wear button or zipper shirts, sweaters, I started with arm exercises provided by a physical therapist, I do them 1 or 2x a day. which helps with not becoming totally stiff-can you post what your orth doc recommends. Did Claritin help?
@kimmieb, how are you doing? Did you find anything that will help with the pain from your ortho?
may i also suggest THERAPEUTIC massage therapy? not your run of the mill relaxation massage but one which works the deep muscles around the shoulder, back and neck... find someone who specializes in injury treatment.. Also a good acupuncturist can help with the shoulder pain...(as well as nausea from chemo, he got me through that)
just a suggestion.. both have been very beneficial to me in the past...
no help from ortho...went to ER three weeks ago and after only doing xrays they think there may be an impingement in my shoulder but i don't think so...I am also having issues with my wrist on the same arm(left) and im getting an MRI this saturday as there is a lump there. I am on gabapentin for nerve pain but it doesn't help. i also take naproxen and its not helping either. no one can tell me if this pain is related to the Neulasta, the chemo, both or just normal aging...which i don't think this amount of problems would be normal aging.
