Like Gloaming, I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea which makes for the fast heart beat (118) at night and low oxygen levels. I've been on a CPAP for couple of weeks; skipping some sessions last week as I was on a trip to Costa Rica and early morning deadlines made it difficult to pack it up. I am looking forward to my follow up with the sleep doc to see if the problem is solved. Maybe be able to discontinue the Metropololl. I am also looking forward to getting use to the machine. So far, I can only do four hours before removing it to get some "good" sleep.

IF you haven't found it, or are already 'there', please go over to apneaboard.com, and have a look through years of forum threads where people new, and sometimes old, to sleep apnea pose questions or share tips.

I had sleep apnea for many years, but my husband would jar me awake when not breathing. The day after he passed away, my sister was coming to visit me and told me she had been using what I call the snorkle machine for years, but discovered that if she slept in a recliner, she had no problem. She did not want to bring her snorkle so she slept in recliner here.

After my sister left, I slept in the recliner for 6 weeks because I had covid. But didn't want to look at the recliner after that fiesta and got rid of it. I now use two pillow angled up and have no problem other than one time when I tried to put them a little lower. No can do. You mentioned Costa Rica. I have lived here over 10 years permanently. Before south Florida. Would love to chat about your trip and snorkeling LOL..
