Do you suggest a B12 or folate supplement?

I had a low blood platelet count of 122,ooo and a B12 count of 149. I have been extremely tired and depressed. I was sent to a hematologist who said they would continue to monitor my platelet counts. Should I take a B12 supplement or folate supplement? Thank you.

@12567752521 the only person who could advise you on a B12 supplement would be your doctor or hematologist. If your hematologist recommends monitoring your platelet counts, it may be best to allow him to do just that, before supplementing on your own.

I do agree with you. I have just been feeling really weak and tired. My platelet count was only 122,000, so I guess mild. I just can't figure out why I feel so weak and tired. Could a platelet count of 122,000 make you feel very tired and weak, or would it possibly be from another reason? When I look in the mirror, I even look sick. Thank you. I recently lost over 100 lbs from detoxing from Xanax,4mg daily for 4 years. Then I felt grea for a little while. Somewhere in there I took berberine, which caused my fluoxetine from leaving my body and I ended up with serotonin syndrome. Got over that, but now I seem to be more sensitive to everything, even a prebiotic for digestive problems. None of my doctors seem to know why. I don't know if it's the prebiotics making me sick or the low platelet count. I am just looking for answers. Have a disabled son I need to take care of.

Look into methylated b12. This is also called methylcarbolin (sp). Most people cannot convert the b12 unless taken in this form.

The common form of b12 is cyanocobolin(sp). This type of b12 is produced by supplement produced using cyanide which can be more harmful than helpful.

Yes on the B12. It helps me have more energy. I take Natures Bounty sublingual liquid B-12. I purchase it on Amazon.

I just began to worry that taking B12 now could alter next blood draws. I am now scheduled for 2 more 3 months apart. Could it alter some of their conclusions on my platelet counts reasons?

Do you have a B12 deficiency? Mine is 419, which is in the lower normal range/ Do you think B12 would help anyway? Thank you
