Gluten- and dairy-free options at/near Mayo Clinic campuses?

Posted by katertucker @katertucker, Jul 7, 2023

I am gluten and dairy free. Are there plenty of food options at the Scottsdale cafeteria or should I bring my own snacks.
Thank you.

Any gluten free options locally in Minnesota? Maybe door dash options? I won’t have a car but I have been gluten free for almost 11 years (due to an allergy) and worried how to eat when I’m there. I’ve also never used door dash before, lol, so any tips in navigating being gluten free while there would be appreciated. (My appts will be in the Gonda building if that helps. Not sure where on campus the cafe is or if it’s worth the walk since walking over 15 minutes is an issue for me) thanks!

Many restaurants offer gluten free options in Rochester. The patient cafeteria at Mayo is in the subway level of Gonda building. Not sure of their gluten - free options.

I have friend who is gluten free and one of her favorite restaurants in Rochester is Twigs Tavern & Grille. They have a special gluten free menu. It is on edge of downtown, so probably not walking distance for you. Most restaurants have delivery options or you can use Uber Eats.

You can also check with the Mayo's free concierge service for other suggestions for dining. https://www.mayoclinic.org/patient-visitor-guide/minnesota/concierge-services

Your hotel may be able to assist with recommendations and delivery options.

Check the shuttle bus route to find out if it stops at a hotel close to the restaurant.

Chester's is a great place to eat. Some gluten free items. Able to get there thru the skyway. Their website is easy to navigate. Happy eating
