Recently diagnosed with cka and my one kidney is working at 40% , blood test result. I had one kidney removed in 1991-not cancerous but I was told at the time it was probably not functioning properly since birth.
Thing is I have had 6 monthly blood test every year since then and I was not told of any decline in my kidney function over the last 30+ years. Why would this deterioration occur without setting alarm bells off?
