Even though it's temporary, my wife sprays the soles of my feet with peppermint extract that we found on Amazon. It's comes from somewhere in England, and it's strong stuff.
When the pain and burning is really bad, it helps calm down the nerves, even if only for a little while. I'm very lucky to have a wife who takes care of me, even after working 40 hours a week at a job that she's been doing for almost 30 years.
She goes out of her way to help me when/where ever I need it.

Yes! I used Watkins Pain Relieving Liniment Spray for years before my Severe Axonal PN diagnosis and it ALWAYS relieved - to an extent - that painful burning on the soles of my feet. I'd explain this to my podiatrist and general practitioner and of course they were completely uninformed about PN and were convinced I must be rubbing it in and that the rubbing was what was helping. Now, years later and after my 2021 diagnosis via EMG, I'm taking prescription medications for the pain, numbness, and burning ~ but I KNOW that peppermint extract worked. Blessings to you and your wonderful wife!

May I ask what pres. work for you for the burning? I do see a peppermint lotion on Amazon.
