So you're taking levothyroxin for low thyroid and minoxidil (half of 2.5mg tablet?) for hair growth? That's what I just started taking. Do you take the Minoxidil before bed?

I take my Levothyroxine first thing in the morning. I then take the Minoxidil later in the morning. I also take a very small blood pressure pill at bedtime. My doctor just reduced it. Will probably completely stop it soon. Which is fine. My weight, diet and exercise will be ideal. Almost at goal weight. Then, I will increase my Minoxidil. A full dose of it is far below what one would take if they were taking it for hypertension. It would have negligible impact the dose is so small, according to my dermatologist. I will get approval from my primary as well. Still, I monitor my BP once a week now.

For all the theories about hair loss remedies, I’d like to believe my dermatologist would tell me the best options. So, I remain skeptical of topical remedies that don’t have a proven track record.

I read on this site about Rosemary Oil being helpful, but the study I could find said they used mice in which they removed their hair with a hair removal depilatory cream. They then treated with Rosemary oil. Well, wouldn’t there be regular hair regrowth anyway? Those creams take the hair away from the surface but they don’t kill the follicle. So, Idk…..if anyone knows more about any other proven treatments, please chime in. I’ll keep an open mind.
