Epiretinal Membrane (ERM) abnormal progression rate?

I know I am replying to an old post, however, I have been diagnosed with a epiretinal membrane which so far makes my vision a little blurry and I have to look at some things with my eye closed, relying on the other eye. I have seen a specialist who says he can't operate because of scar tissue in the eye. Have you heard of this? I'm very worried as the vision in my eye is getting worse.
Thank you and I hope everything went well for you.

Hi, I guess I'm replying to myself here! Having seen a different doctor, he tells me that the whole membrane is scar tissue, so I don't know what my other doctor was talking about. Anyhow, the doctor says he would not himself have the surgery because of the possibility of it becoming even worse. I would appreciate a response from someone with this same problem. If they had the surgery, what was the result?
Many thanks.
