You’ve been delt a stressful blow buddy. I think your insomnia was inevitable.
How about some over the counter sleep meds.
Hang in there.

Hi content. This stuff doesnt seem to be helping any longer. Was good for the first few nights but seems to have lost its zip. I’m still using it but still staying awake After 4 am or so. Mind you I have a lot of stress going on in my life right
now that is certainly not helping. Enjoy your day

@shaker1956 Sorry to hear this. The half of a Benadryl works wonders for me but actually too much! I rely on waking about an hour or so before I have to get up, to take my medications, prior to eating, and with the Benadryl I sleep more soundly and sometimes do not wake up then. I really do not want to set my alarm and wake my husband too. I did have a Fitbit Versa watch for a while and that was perfect, you could set it to vibrate on your wrist, but I returned it because it was not tracking the activities do very well.

Hey there Content. Think I will try half a Benny tonite when I go to bed. Cant make me feel any worse than what I’m feeling now. I dont know if its the Effexor effect or the Melanoma effect. I do know however its not pleasant. I‘M looking forward to seeing the cancer Doc on Thursday as he will be able to tell me why I’m feeling this way. I know its just a matter of time for the Effexor to be completely out of my system anyways. Just very hard to deal with. Oh well we all have our crosses to bare!!! Hope your having a great day.....

@shaker1956 I hope you sleep well with the benedryl. I don’t think you should take it every night though, check that with your doctor.
JK

Hi Content. I did sleep well last night. I even managed tosqueeze in 2 extra 2 hrs sleep. Sure need it!!!! Enjoy your day...

@shaker1956 Great! I am sure you are enjoying your day, after having a good night's sleep.

Hi JK. Well I’m not feeling too bad. I’ve had to take some Advil twice today. I dont know why I get these monstrous headaches but I have to deal with them the only way I know how. And thats the Advil. Looking forward to my app’t with the Cancer Doc on Thursday. I have many questions for him and his answers will clear up some things!!!!!

@shaker1956 Have you had your headaches diagnosed? Could they possibly be migraine? I had migraines before I hit menopause and they were awful. They just came out with Imitrex shortly before mine stopped but I hesitated to use it because even though I did not have heart problems my family is full of them, and people with heart problems were not supposed to take it. Thankfully I rarely have any headaches now, which I am very happy about, not only because who wants headaches, but the only thing I can take is Tylenol.

My daughter inherited my migraines unfortunately and I know she does have success with some of the medications that are available now.

Hi JK. I only started getting headaches recently. I think Its a combination of stress and withdrawing from Effexor. Advil does take care of them but it still is not pleasant!!!!! I start my 12th week without that dreaded drug tomorrow. It has been a pretty cappy go let me tell you!!!! Enjoy your evening

Actually starting my 11th week off Effexor. Not my 12th!!!!!
