Anyone become ill with a cold or flu when you already have MCTD?

Has anyone become ill with a cold and/or the flu when you already have MCTD? What were the results? Many thanks. I have MCTD and just got a cold.

Just because you have MCTD doesn’t mean you can’t get sick, actually you are more likely to because your immune system is compromised. Being sick with a cold or flu takes longer to resolve and you may even get it worse because of the autoimmune condition.

I hope my comment wasn’t too crast, because I didn’t mean for it to sound that way. Just wanted to mention my PCP always recommended to get the flu vaccine for protection even though it doesn’t protect all strains. The vaccine can lessen symptoms if you actually get the flu. Basically, it will offer some protection and therefore most physicians will suggested you get one.
