IOVERA for Knee Pain
I had a partial knee replacement 13 weeks ago, and I am experiencing severe Vice- like and burning pain. Many appointments later I’m scheduled for IOVERA next week, but I’m not finding anything that’s positive about it. Has anyone experienced positive outcomes???
Please help!

Hi I found shoulder cortisone shots really helped. I supposedly have two torn rotator cuffs hut now I haven’t had an injection in over a year. I realize everyone’s body is different but pain is pain! Hang in there!
A miracle for knee pain relief for me was a corticosteroid shot, Zilretta. I was rejuvenated for 3 months. I go easily get off the ground. Medicare paid for this injection in both knees. However--------- after 2 months my hair began falling out all over my head. I could run my hand through my hair and end up with a handful.
Vanity put an end to this shot. I'd rather put up with the pain than go bald. About 5 months after the injection my hair began re-growing and got back to it 's original volume within a few years.
I had the Iovera treatment August 2023 and still having pain. Anyone else still having issues after the 90 days they say it wears off ?
Since June 28 and the pain gets worse
I cancelled the knee replacement with hopes it would go away and it
has not ...I cannot post what I really feel because I do not want to get
thrown off
It needs to be recalled or they need to retrain the people who are doing it now
The PA for the DR hit my nerves and made light of it and I am paying the price
I read that, like knee replacement, Iovera has an 80/20 percent success rate. My pain doc (who I have told I am NOT doing TKR because of all the horrible stories I read, and was going to do Iovera, but now scared of that, too!) says that only those (or at least the majority) go on websites to complain when things go wrong, versus, when things go right...I'm trying very hard to believe that! But I am still putting off the TKR surgery until I am at a point where I just can't even walk! How sad is that!
That’s sad. I did TKR and had Iovera. I am happy i did both. So much easier to get around. I had surgery January 3 2023. Went to Florida in May of 2023 to visit my sister. I had the robotic TKR surgery and have been very happy with the results. Do your therapy exercises to strengthen your muscles. go for it
I'm happy to hear good results! I had a horrible experience with back surgery (double fusion) at a time when they did not give a nerve block. So a bit of 'post traumatic' going on, too..I am now looking to do robotic along with the Iovera. I love my surgeon, but he doesn't do robotic, and I like the idea of having the hardware made to my knee specifications..again, so happy you've had a great outcome!
