Prolia verses Evenity

Started out on Fosamax for several years. Then was on Prolia for 8 years and back to Fosamax for 2 years. Endocrinologist left and now I have new endocrinologist. New doctor is recommending I go on Prolia forever or Evenity for 1 year and then possibly switch to Prolia or another medication. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Yes. I'm 76 and have had a similar path. Fosomax, forteo, evenity and now one shot of Prolia. I'd like to be older before committing to Prolia for after. I'll have one more shot of Prolia then hopefully the endocrinologist whom I will see in July will have a sequencing strategy that will buy time.

I started out on Reclast for several years, two year of Prolia and I am just finishing Evenity. My last shots are next week and I will get a Dexa in about 1 1/2 weeks. I will post my results.

I just finished the 1 year on Evenity. No side effects except sore arms and doctor was thrilled with the bone density test. I just had my first Prolia shot two weeks ago. Doctor (endocrinologist) say it’s better tolerated than the Evenity. So I’m hoping all is going to be good. I hope this helps.

My endo is giving me 12 months of Envenity to rebuild bone then 1 prolia shot to maintain what was built up. 10 years of Fosamax was not enough to keep me out of osteoporosis after being off 8 years.

I was told you can’t stay on Prolia for more than eight years.

I am 67, diagnosed at 52 with severe osteoporosis . 13 consecutive spinal fractures started in 2016. Did two years of Forteo, followed by one shot of Prolia and then 5 yrs of Raloxifene . Now into my 4th month of another course of Forteo. Undecided if I will do Evenity after 6 months of the Forteo. Would love to hear from anyone doing Forteo again. Anxious about Evenity.

I am also on the same path as you. Finished my one year of Evenity and had my one dose of prolia and due for my second one in March. My endo wants me to move on to reclast after Prolia. What is your plan?

Prolia forever. I will ask about the changeover to Reclast. Thanks. Did your dr mention why the change and when?
