Jardiance/Empagliflozin can and is be used to treat other issues besides diabetes. I was taking it for a few short weeks and stopped as it was knocking me out 3 hours after taking it every day, for approximately 2 hours at a time. Apparently not a side effect but it stopped happening when I stopped taking the drug! I did notice an increase in the amount of urine I was passing and the dry mouth. Almost to the point of having a drink of water and making my way to the throne room straight after.
I regularly get SIBO, it produces methane for me with both constipation and or diarrhea. I can't be sure which one each time so I don't waste time hanging about! I now keep a backup supply of medication to treat the SIBO immediately I feel it coming on. Depending on what your SIBO is producing can affect the bowels either way.
