I've never had a sore tongue, but I've commented before that I taste prednisone almost constantly. It tastes kind of metallic, and also kind of medicinal. I also smell it lot. I've tapered over 7 months from 60 mg down to 9, but the taste of prednisone has only decreased a little.

Yes, I had that when I got thrush last year. Have you checked inside your mouth and under your tongue for any whitish areas and a whiter than usual tongue? Thrush is more likely while taking prednisone when immunity is low.

I find the prednisone messes with my taste. I can't really taste salt anymore, which is really annoying. After I had been on methotrexate for a few weeks I developed painful sores in my mouth, and was switched from folic acid to leucovorin to try to prevent this side effect, and it seems to be working.
