How does the Vagus Nerve play a part in PASC
I have heard about a clinic has succeeded in reducing the pain of PASC by stimulating the Vagus Nerve and offering other physical treatments. I am speaking of the Spero Clinic in Fayetteville, AR.
My 15-year-old granddaughter has had PASC for approximately two years, and the pain management is only mildly helpful. Recently, Abigail’s symptoms have been increasing in severity, and she is at a point now where she has severe muscular-skeletal pain, always at a 7/10 or more, and she is rarely able to sleep as a result of her pain. She suffers from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, which causes her to pass out frequently, Amplified Muscular Pain Syndrome & Fibromyalgia, gastrointestinal symptoms such as frequent vomiting and food intolerance, and extreme fatigue. She also has suffered from unexplained seizures and chest pains.
What does the medical research say about treating POTS or PASC by this method?
I know you are on the cutting edge and may have information.

Thank you
Thank you, John and Marilyn,
As I read the study, I am getting a clearer picture of the role of the Vagus Nerve and her illness. It is also helping me form questions to ask the clinic so we can make a more informed decision.
Best,

Hi everyone! 👋
I wanted to share some amazing news about my granddaughter Abby's battle with Long Covid. I originally joined this group looking for advice about the Spero Clinic Treatment Center, where my daughter was raising money to send her. They're special because they're one of the few places that treat kids - and wow, what a difference it's made!
Abby's 16 now and back to her old self - vibrant, funny, and just so creative. It's like getting our girl back! The biggest game-changer was this Vagus Nerve stimulator they got her. She uses it every night and it really helps her manage her Long Covid symptoms.
You should have seen what she was dealing with before: passing out all the time from POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome), struggling with this awful Amplified Muscular Pain Syndrome & Fibromyalgia, constant stomach issues with vomiting and food problems, and just being completely wiped out all the time.
My daughter told me about some of the treatments they used (honestly, there were so many I can't remember them all!): Vagus Nerve Stimulation, Neuromuscular Re-Education, Magnetic Resonancy Therapy, Microcurrent stuff, Electrical Stimulation, Neuromodulation, and Lymphatic Therapy. It wasn't cheap - we're talking $60,000 - but seeing the results... worth every penny.
Actually, watching Abby's recovery has got me thinking about my husband. He's been struggling with this terrible back pain, and while I know he'd need an adult program (Spero is not just for kids), I'm wondering if similar treatments might help him too. Has anyone here tried anything like this for chronic back pain? Would love any suggestions!
Right now we're focused on raising money to send Abby's sister for treatment (fingers crossed! 🤞), but I'm keeping my eyes open for options for my husband too.
I don't know anyone at the clinic personally, but I just had to share our story. When you find something that actually works, you want to shout it from the rooftops, you know?
Sending good vibes to everyone here! 💕 Carmel
