Hello @c101,

Cymbalta is currently still available on the market. The links you shared were from 2015, which can be a long time in medication and research.

However, as of December 2024, around 233,000 bottles of Cymbalta were recalled due to contamination:

It does not appear that Cymbalta has been completely taken off of the market but has had a significant recall on bottles that were contaminated.

@c101, if you are comfortable sharing, are you currently taking Cymbalta for fibromyalgia? Are you concerned about alternative treatments if Cymbalta were to be halted?

Duloxetine caused such an adverse reaction for me that my PCP listed it in my allergy-to-drugs list.

Sorry - I see now that Justin did refer to the recall (he listed the link above).

No problem @c101, all of the resources can be helpful for other members who may be affected by the recall. It looks like they are still investigating the recent contaminated medications as they added more to the recall in late December 2024. Were you affected by this recall?

I am not taking Cymbalta. This is what happened when I was taking it though: Caused increased pain in fibromyalgia pain in legs. and bladder pain. Same of increased pain the next time prescribed and made me nauseated.

I keep an ongoing list of things I cannot take so I do not have to go through the misery of suffering again.

Justin, I have been working on a master compilation of the majority of comments for all the discussions. It will list: Books, Videos and helpful links. Also Comorbidities, Medications & Treatments, Symptoms, and Theories & Contributing Factors. I am up to 25 pages and only half-way through the comment strings. Some things are interesting though and I have downloaded the articles of reference. I will post when I finish and maybe it will help in a small way with this mysterious illness. It just seems that in 2025, we are not very far ahead in the world of medicine.

I took Cymbalta for 2 weeks a few years ago. At first I didn’t feel any improvement, but after a few days I felt good. Then I felt too good- I stopped feeling the urge to urinate and it seemed like my digestive system stopped. I also started feeling like my skin was crawling and I was manic, then depressed. That was the end of Cymbalta- my doctor also flagged it in my chart as sensitivity.

Yes and cymbal at brand name was just taken off the market. Every step hurts especially at night I am depressed I have pain in my feet and non replaced joints I am more panicky that I have ever been and I have trouble thinking as I write this I am working on the worst migraine I have had for 20 years which is about how long I have been on cymbal at and all these things are helped by iy
