Have any of you had success with acupuncture ?

I have an appointment with an integrated doctor who practices western and eastern medicine. I am hoping that he can help me with my fatigue. Is there anyone that experienced success with acupuncture and/ or other eastern treatments?

I have had good experiences with acupuncture. I have to remind myself that if I feel better afterwards, that I need to go home and rest. The boost sometimes has me doing too much and puts me into PEM/flare up. Same thing for herbs. Don't seek energy boosting herbs, rather just balancing herbs. Ask them to consider less reactive acupuncture points as well. Before you see a new practitioner, ask it they have experience with Long Covid. If not, ask them to research and check in with colleagues. It's worth a try. Good luck.

My first treatment resulted in a noticeable reduction in abdominal pain as well as elimination of nausea from my GERD. This has continued so far today. My last symptom, fatigue, felt more like being very relaxed. I am going to continue twice a week for 6 weeks.

I wish it was covered by insurance. I’m going to check my new coverage. It was rather expensive for me at the time, but well worth it. I hope he can help me with my current issues.

I was fortunate to find my acupuncturist through Duke Integrative medicine. It was for my chronic eye conditions. He is a very experienced and gifted professional who has a private practice. He eventually treated me for several things. It’s the only time I have walked into a place in pain and walked out with no pain. This was due to him doing some therapeutic touch, when I was actually there for my acupuncture appointment. Due to over exerting myself during a move, I hurt my back and one foot. He did the acupuncture for my eye condition AND also addressed my back and foot (flared plantar fasciitis). It was miraculous. I’m not kidding. The touch he did on my calf and foot was painful , but it took the pain away and I walked out 99% better! Hard to believe insurance doesn’t cover it. Much better result for me than any podiatrist. I think you have to find the right person, though.

What is the Rituxan infusion.

I had accupuncture this past week. Went in feeling defeated, headache, zero energy. Practitioner listed to me, did a very thorough review of systems then proceeded to do acupuncture on both anterior/posterior sides of my body with 20 min each side under the heat lamps.
I walked out 2.5 hours later, with no headache and the first time I felt like I had any energy in 8 weeks!
Going weekly for a month and hoping to see continued improvement.

I have gone to an acupuncturist for 3 sessions for GERD, IBS, and fatigue. Those are my only symptoms. Each time he treats me, the pain is gone for about a week. He uses suction cups, heat from a roll of paper on specific areas, and of course, the needles. I was hoping that the treatments resulted in less fatigue. He is now suggesting Chinese herbs. That makes me a little nervous. I already take so much supplements. Keep us posted on your progress.

I’ve found acupuncture to be very helpful as a tool for managing long COVID symptoms! Recommend finding someone who is seasoned and can target the specific symptoms you’re dealing with. For me- the effects lasts about 2-3 days and at $95 per session- getting the frequency of treatments I need isn’t within my families budget. The idea is that the visits are spaced out overtime so that helps but it’s still very costly. Let us know how it goes if you try it @mclelland1958! I’ve also enjoyed infrared saunas/res light therapy, prayer/meditation, epsom salt baths, restorative yoga and had positive experiences.
