Evenity

Posted by sbax75 @sbax75, 3 days ago

I will be having my first injection this week. I am 76 years old very thin and have no abdominal fat. I'm wondering and worried about the injection in the abdomen- there is no fat at all there. Is there a reason why this location is important or have people had the injection in the thigh or upper arm. There is more subcutaneous tissues in those areas on my body.

I did better with injections in the thigh!

I’m also quite thin and have had all four sets of injections to date in the backs of my upper arms. The nurses typically allow the evenity to sit at room temp for about a half hour before injection and then inject slowly. The shots have not caused me any significant discomfort - I find them less painful than a flu shot.

My evenity injections were given in each upper arm. Are you are sure you are not referring to forteo? I had to self administer with that in the abdomen.

My first shots were in tummy, later shots in thigh.

I am 75 and slender. I had all of my shots in my arm. I have completed the full year.

My doctor rotates between my upper arms and "now" back of thighs. I had one injection in my abdomen and, like you, have no abdominal fat and was very uncomfortable for several days. Alternating between thighs and arms is much better. Best of luck to you.

Did you start Evenity right after Forteo? I am in my 3rd month of second round of Forteo and suppose to do Evenity after this. Also, what is you plan after Evenity? Thank you for sharing as I haven't got a lot of guidance from my Endocrinologist and really appreciate the information on this site
