What happens after Tymlos?

Posted by alknapp @alknapp, Feb 21, 2024

I’m going to be finishing the 18 month course of Tymlos in April/May of this year. Endo is saying that I should follow that with Prolia (within weeks) and then Reclast.

Has anyone else followed that treatment plan or have any comments about it?

Thank you.

@lhankins I use a keyboard. My brain does this thing where it puts the wrong letters first. Loved the humor. Castle-Connolly is safe from litigation from me 🙂

I transpose numbers and letters constantly! I am trying to focus more on the task at hand. It’s not easy with my noisy, distracted brain.

Hi Chris! Thank you for your comment. I also have Dr. Wermers and am getting ready to end my two-year treatment with Tymlos in March. He has also recommended Fosamax, which I am leaning towards taking. Did you consider or research any other treatments like Reclast that I see in this post? Do you have a sense of how long you'll stay on Fosamax? Thanks for your help!

I have one more year with Tymlos. I'm glad to hear that Dr. Wermers recommends Fosamax for some people. By next year, I will hopefully be well into osteopenia range (I'm -2.0 now), and I think I'd be more comfortable with Fosamax vs. an infusion. The latter makes me nervous because it's like jumping out of a plane and you pray your parachute opens. 🙂
