For those with pancan, did you drink lots of Diet Coke or Coke?
I am very curious about finding out why people are getting pancan in what seems like record numbers.
My mom drank Coke daily she did up until she died of pancreatic cancer and it wasn’t hereditary. So for 45 years that’s what she did. I on the other hand drank Diet Coke for at least 20 years as a way to get energy I didn’t like coffee so would swing through McDonald’s daily and get Diet Coke. I then realized in my late forties early 50s how horrible it is for you and switched to water. I was so addicted it took like 2 yrs to be free of wanting a Diet Coke.
So in my heart I believe drinking Coke did a number on my pancreas and my moms. I want to help others if this is true. I am a very healthy person. Ate healthy exercised daily was never ever over weight. Never drank a lot never smoked. If you want please let me know what your history is with Coke or Diet Coke. It will help me understand this. Thanks!

So I read about the vit C IVs it sounds very promising! I had 8 rounds of chemo fulfirinox after which my tumor had shrunk by 60 % then went on to do the 3 week intensive radiation at Mayo and had my whipple surgery 6 weeks after that.
According to the dr my tumor was dead and he peeled it off. My margins were all clean it hasn’t spread it will be three years next month. My CA 19 is 4 now. Don’t give up and keep asking questions!!!! I had lots of people praying for me it helps so much! I also had a root canal last year lol it went well! I lost 20 pounds also after surgery was down to 97 pounds after figuring out my diet and creon I am back to 106 pounds going in the right direction I started at 120 so didn’t have any extra to lose really.
Are you going to get the whipple?
Please 🙏 any one if who told me if someone have a anyone or a friend of his has had a pancreatic cyst, a cyst in the head of the pancreas measuring 2 cm, and several MRI scans have been done since a year ago and until now the size is the same, and the question is, is it possible that this has happened to anyone else and what procedures they have undergone? Is it possible that the cyst will exceed this size in the future or is it treatable or is it treated or removed? How is it done? Is it dangerous or can it turn into a malignant disease or does it remain benign as it is now? I have it benign because a trick was done and it turned out to be benign. Please answer and provide details. With all due respect.
Note that the CA 19.9 test result is normal several times.
If there is no answer, please put my discussion in a group specialized in the pancreas, as information on social media and internet matters is weak. Thank you.
I appreciate your example and perspective on this topic, @stageivsurvivor.
My sister has a small cyst on her pancreas. Her Drs are just monitoring it. I think you are ok just keep getting scans. 👍🏼 that’s what they are telling her to do. Keep getting blood tests.
FaceBook has a high quality "Pancreas IPMN Support Group" with three very knowledgeable Administrators, three moderators and an oncologist who himself has IPMN's and is an active participant in the group. On their home page under guides is a lot of reference materials including two recent videos produced by the oncologist who is a member of the group.
Certainly drinking too much coke isn’t good for the body but I’ve not heard anything associating excessive soda drinking to pancreatic cancer. I’m sure that would’ve been uncovered if that was a leading factor of getting the disease.
I'm not sure if you could blame Coca Cola specifically or "soda/pop" (everything is "coke" here in the South 😉 ) but there might be a link to high lifetime sugar consumption. Sudden-onset diabetes in adults is common in people with pancreatic cancer, but the jury seems to be out on which (if either) is cause/effect. It's hard to sort out because both are often diagnosed late (long after they've taken root).
As I mentioned a few pages ago, I probably did everything wrong in terms of diet and environmental exposure, and have an ATM mutation on top of all that. I was expecting colon cancer in my older years, but thought I was home free after a clean colonoscopy 7 years ago. The PDAC diagnosis 3.5 years ago really blindsided me.
Ok thanks 👍🙏
