I have used Systane Nighttime Eye Gel (or GenTeal Severe Dry Eye Gel) every night at bedtime for over 20 years. About 4 years ago I found I needed to apply again during the night. I apply that dose whenever I wake to use the bathroom. Doing this ensures my eyes are comfortable when I get up in the morning. I also cleanse my eyelids with Ocusoft Foam Lid Scrub every morning upon arising. This was recommended to me by my Optometrist. I also use Xiidra drops twice a day (Restasis did nothing for me.)
As I’ve aged (I’m 77) my dry symptoms have gradually increased. I’m planning on talking with my optometrist at my upcoming appointment about adding Meibo.

Thanks for the tips. I use those ointments too as I believe they are the only two available, except for a brand called Optase. Systane and Genteal are both made by the same company. I can no longer find any Walgreens brand or Equate. This bothers me as if they go out of business or have a tragic misfortune with their plant, all their customers will suffer. I have no idea what I would do. Sigh.

I need to resume the daily cleansing. I just feel it will dry my eyes further. I do use Systane hydrating drops during the day. I find them mire helpful that Systane gel drops.

Still, I would like to try Meibo.
