cymbalta for pain

I was prescribed cymbalta to help with overall body pain. After a week i was walking my dog and realized my pain was way down to almost to a livable pain. But the sweating was non stop. Especially at night i soaked my pillow and bed. My Dr had me stop cymbalta and my pain came roaring back. Anyone that can help me with this please let me know

Trazadone can hang around in the body long enough so you may feel "tired" the next morning (I've been on it yrs ago and I'm a RPh). You may not feel this it depends on body wt+ body fat.You usually overcome this after several days of Rx. Watch stomach side effects on other,, AND IF IT DOESN'T WORK FOR PAIN COMPLAIN ,YES COMPLAIN TO YOUR DR TO COVER IT BETTER ! Tx Rick

Thanks for the information. I thoroughly researched Cymbalta this past weekend, did leave a few messages for my doctor. When it was prescribed there was nothing mentioned about the serious / “major” drug interaction with Trazodone. I only took one dose of Cymbalta, the morning after taking Trazodone, and became very ill due to Serotonin Syndrome. I immediately stopped the Cymbalta, and asked for a prescription for Lyrica. My understanding is low dose Trazodone combined with Lyrica is well tolerated and provides neuropathy pain relief and may be effective in treating general anxiety disorder. That is all I need and do not have the drug interaction to worry about.

Regarding Trazodone, would taking a small 25 mg dose be effective in falling asleep at night?

I had no negative side effects of taking 30mg duloxetine daily, except perhaps a negative effect on libido. Otherwise it was very effective. The negative effects of it for me were when I tried to come off this drug. That was terrifying. As I’ve said, I was on it for years before that. I strongly advise getting off it as soon as your doctor recommends you do so.

Thanks! I took myself off duloxetine (Cymbalta) after one dose taken after using Trazodone the night before. Became ill quickly due to drug interaction, and asked for a prescription for Lyrica in replacement of duloxetine.
